Training Programs

Comprehensive Language Training using:

These two types of training programs, when used together, produce results far greater than the sum of the two parts. By having the supervisors making the effort to communicate in the workers language, an environment of "mutual effort" develops. The non-English speakers thus feel less self-conscious using their new language. Since the vocabulary is job-specific, it is used everyday.

As the workers use their language skills on the job, they gain confidence in their ability to communicate and continue to progress in the new language, both in the workplace and outside. The learning curve is accelerated greatly.

English on the Job Training Programs
(Stand-alone)

Customized curriculums provide language training for LEP workers using vocabulary specific to their jobs. By using pictures or digital photos, the language learner is able to see, hear, speak and read material that pertains to his/her job. Additional curriculums provide training in Job-Safety, OSHA, Work Readiness, Procedures, Policy, etc. A long-term, progressive solution. Programs are developed taking into consideration the needs, time restraints, and budget of the client.

FasTrac "Survival Spanish" or "Survival Creole" Training

8-24 hour courses provide basics of pronunciation, vocabulary and usage but without homework, grammar, or problems. A laminated "Cheat-Sheet" has the essential job-specific vocabulary for supervisors and managers. Emphasis is on speaking and communicating, not perfection! A good short-term solution to the communication problem. Facilitates safety, efficiency, and customer service.

"Supervising Hispanic Employees" Workshop

4 or 8 hour workshop designed to inform Supervisors and Managers of diversity issues and cover basic cultural differences. Includes "Survival Spanish" component.
